A Journey Of Passion, Brotherhood And Music

What got you all into music? How was the band formed?
In the start it was not about making originals or performing on big stages. Haziq & I (Fahad) along with our best friend Osman who played drums, formed the band in 2011 but it was more like playing music as a hobby to fulfill the urge of expressing our feelings through it.
At this point we had not played a live show in our life before and we were not good at playing live shows at all. I remember the first gig we played and how horrible it went because of the stage fright and lack of prior experience, that first gig resulted in us not performing for the next 8-12 months.
We tried with different vocalists, before we met Nosherwan, but it never worked out with them. But after Nosherwan, who was also a friend joined the band, that is when we finally started to get a hang of it and after that we just never stopped soon to be joined by Humayun, Ali & Nehal.
How would you describe your music genre? What unique attributes separate you from the others
Combination of different genres; Pop Rock, Soft Rock, Alternative, Ambient and another genre that we are exploring these days is the 80’s Retro. We don’t really limit ourselves to a specific genre, I guess that’s unique about us.
Being a musician what you enjoy the most?
Performing on big stages, making new music and I repeat, performing on big stages.
The best memory about any musical gig you performed?
After the Battle, we had an amazing time performing at so many places that it’s hard to pick just one but we played this show in GIKI that got super lit, literally! Every song was special and it was the first time the crowd lit up their cellphone torches and started waving. That crowd was the best so far.
Tell us a song that best describes you?
Aasman; A musical ballad of love, emotions and ambience. But to be honest we’re moving very fast in terms of how the band’s musical taste and genre is evolving. We are actually very excited for the upcoming releases. Hopefully it’s going to come out as good as we’re imagining it to be.
What would have been more different had you won the battle of the bands?
I guess nothing, as winning or losing was never the goal, reaching the Finals was so that we can put out the maximum number of originals. The fact that we did not win made us work harder after the show ended.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Motivated, Resilient, Dreamers
What is the most rock star thing the whole band has done?
We were staying in Lahore for a shoot when we got the news of this event happening there with all the big stars from the industry hosted by Pepsi. It was an invitation-only event and though we could easily just call someone to get us in, we decided to rather just show up and see what happens haha. Much to our surprise, we were welcomed there like a celebrity which was absolutely amazing! That’s probably the most Rock star thing the band has done.
What’s next on the bucket list of “AARISH”?
Well there’s this Album release idea we’ve been working on that we want to pull off. It’s certainly very challenging and we hope we can pull it off like we’ve imagined it. The Album is coming by the end of this year so there’s that. Other than the album we want to tour around the world one day hopefully!
