Aja, FCC ke Rickshay Per Beth Ja
Having already spent a semester here (the unwanted Spring Admissions), I had a fair idea of how the prestigious chartered university “Forman Christian College University” functioned. Due to this previous knowledge, I was slightly apprehensive of their freshman week activities. Abhi yar adha saal guzar kr bethay hain FCC, aur abhi inko yaad ata he ke welcome bhi deni he. But despite feeling this way I decided to check out their society stalls anyway (mainly for the free chocolates they were giving away). One banner caught my eye. It had a decorated richshaw on it, the same one that you get to see in the new Food Street, the one behind Badshahi Mosque.

The rickshaw ride was supposed to start at 12:30, but following the tradition of Pakistan, it started at 1:00. But it was totally worth the wait. Our tour guides (students themselves) were amazing. They tried to explain every important building in the university premises, which stretch up to 100 acres. We saw everything from the Mosque to the Church (the best thing about FCC is their inclusivity and Diverse Student Body) and from the Library to the Student Cafeteria. Heck, they even showed us the outsides of the Rector’s House!
It is safe to say that we had fun. By the time we got back, other students had lined up to experience this unique activity as well. The tour guides were kind enough to let us go for one more ride. The only regret I have? I couldn’t get one decent picture from the event. But hey, there’s always next year!
