You ever heard the phrase “all art is political?” Shehzils art is just that. She combines her artwork with her activism and her themes revolve around topics centering women in Pakistan/South Asian countries. From addressing issues of women in public spaces to representing South Asian women in a new light, Shehzils artwork has received international acclaim for using art as a political statement.
Peshawar based artist Mahoor is an illustrator, fashion designer and photographer. She’s widely known in the fashion industry for her creative artwork that has a mystical element to it. Her themes also revolve around South Asian women and their representation on media, her use of color is especially unique. While beauty is largely associated with a certain skin color or body type in Pakistan, Mahoors art stays true to depicting South Asian beauty in a way that embraces all skin tones and body types.
Karachi based illustrator and graphic designer, Samyas work is heavily inspired by women around her and from her own experience as a woman in Pakistan. Her work has psychedelic elements to it and she incorporates surrealism to her designs, often making her artwork stand out. Her work is almost always a form of storytelling. She gained fame when in 2016 the interior of a Taxi she designed got featured in a Coldplay music video!
