Life is all about expressions. Whether this is in the form of a laugh, a written word, or the rhythm of a beat, every person has his or her own form of expression. These expressions collectively help us to live in a better way. Taking on this concept, in the heart of the capital city of Islamabad, a group of young people started the Drum Circle. Started in 2017 with only six people who loved the sound of the drum, to growing up in 2019 to more than 500 people, The Drum Circle is a unique form of therapy.
Founder Natiq Ali commented on his idea by saying that the drum circle allows you to be a part of something bigger than yourself. The consistent rhythm transports you to a different place where you feel at peace. In this age of tensions and stress, the drum circle celebrates community and the power of unity. The aim is to empower individuals to revel on the little things in life that make them happy. So far, the drum circle is doing a great job as every Wednesday different people gather at a restaurant and drum their hearts out!
Following the trend, The Drum Clinic Lahore was opened recently. The Drum Clinic works in a different way because they do full moon drum circles. They give classes in hand drums such as Djembe and Darbuka. They aim to build a community of drummers together from far and wide where you can meet fascinating people and be a part of an incredible experience. Their drumming classes and drum circles are not only about playing, but also about personal and spiritual development. They choose the most peaceful places for their sessions. For all the people in Lahore who want try something different, follow the Drum Clinic and join them in their next session.
