Plot:
The movie revolves around a Donkey, Mangu, who gains popularity by defeating a bull named Tsunami, in a fight. The story takes place in a fictional place called Azad Nagar. The lion king of Azad Nagar, Badshah Khan, announces retirement and leaves his son Shehzada as the heir to the throne. The animals of the kingdom do not like the new ruler and thus, elections are announced at the proposition of Miss Fitna, a fox. Mangu decides to contest the election against Shehzada.
With the clever plotting of Miss Fitna together with the hatred of animals towards Shehzada, Mangu wins by a great margin. Mangu vows to make a New Azad Nagar. Later in the movie, Mangu realizes that the things that looked picture perfect are not like that. The animals who helped him win now want him to be their puppet.
Analysis:
The movie has some of the very great voice-overs that makes Donkey King a very exceptional Pakistani animated movie. The voice over cast has some of the most famous actors of Pakistan including Javed Sheikh, Jan Rambo, Hina Dilpazir, Faisal Qureshi, Ghulam Mohiyuddin, Adeel Hashmi and many more. Furthermore, the animations look way too good and can be compared to the animations of other internationally famous animated movies by Disney.

The movie also roughly pictures the political scenario of Pakistan from the past elections to present.
Donkey King will keep you entertained and you will not have to think hard to figure out each character or scenes that roughly depict some of the real personalities and scenarios of this world. For example, Mangu announcing the creation of Naya Azad Nagar, and the appearance of a Hippo named Ronal Crump may sound very familiar to you.
Verdict:
Most credit goes to the voice-overs of the characters that brought the movie to life. You will forget who has given the voice of the character and will feel that this is the real voice of animated character.
The animations look amazingly well compared to the prior Pakistani animated movies. Zeeshan Karimi and his team has done a remarkable job indeed.
In the end, all the credit goes to Aziz Jindani, who has directed the movie and made it look almost alive.
Some may say that the plot is not fiction at all and boldly depicts the current political scenario of Pakistan but that is not entirely correct. The plot may seem close to the current political situation but the movie itself is very entertaining with a great story that earned the fandom of children to older people, which is very rare for an animated movie around the world.
