The coming of the year 2020 marks the end of a decade. Everything feels new and there are countless new opportunities and ideas that are just waiting to happen. Jumping on to this trend, Google Assistant also revealed some cool new features marking the start of a new decade. Here are some of the best additions you need to try:
- Easily discover Google Assistant-enabled devices
Finding out if the devices in your home are compatible with an app is a hassle on its own. Sometimes, once we buy the device, we figure out that its compatibility with some of our most used apps is very limited. This causes huge issues, which is why the new feature in Google Assistant helps you to know if your new smart home device is compatible with Google Assistant.
- Get more specific with your schedule
The new Scheduled Actions feature will allow you to time all your actions. For example, if you have a big meeting early in the morning and you need to get to bed on time, you can use your voice to set a reminder on Google Assistant to turn your lights off at 9 p.m. In this way, even if you are scrolling through social media, the lights will go off and you can put your phone down.
- Leave a digital sticky note
Paper and pens are old news now. One of my personal favorite new features is the Digital Sticky Note. With this feature, you can leave a note on any Google Assistant powered display and it will appear on the screen for everyone to see. Someone in the family has to walk the dog? Just leave a digital note and everyone at home will see and oblige.
