Sports is something that can be done by anyone at any age. You do not need to reach a certain level to start playing the games you love. Following this ideology, three and a half years old Haniya Minhas followed her father to his tennis matches every day. Little did her family know that Haniya was on her way to becoming a young tennis star. Now, at the age of nine, Haniya has won six international titles in Dubai and fifteen national championship titles in Pakistan. She is starting to gain wide attention from professional athletes.
Haniya’s father who is a tennis expert and trainer is her coach. They train at the Punjab Sports Board facility at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Her daily training schedule is quite rigorous. It is spread over three hours, where she spends two hours on tennis and one hour for fitness. Haniya is going to go to the Junior World Championship in March to be held in Spain. In November, her father hopes that she can contend at the Tennis Europe and Asian Tennis Championships. The duo wants to raise Pakistan’s flag high and make the country proud.
We wish Haniya the very best of luck and we will support her in every upcoming match!
