Lahore all set to host three-day “Faiz Festival”
Having recently been designated as “City of Literature” by UNESCO, Lahore is ready to host the Faiz Festival 2019 from the 15th to 17th of November. Organized by the Faiz Foundation which has been working since 2009 to promote the ideas of Faiz through the arts and culture, the festival is a mixture of literary and artistic immersion. If you’re looking for a weekend to engage in thought provoking panel discussions, famous artists performing Faiz poetry and an art exhibition titled “aad sach, jugaad sach”, you can head on over to the Alhamra Halls – the festival is free!
The festival is titled “Bol, zabaan ab tak teri hai” taken from the famous piece of poetry by Faiz, the sentiments of which are still adequately applicable to us today. Perhaps this is why these festivals are becoming necessary over time, one may argue that we’ve lost touch with the revolutionary ideas of poets like Faiz and Jalib. These three days should give us a chance to recollect and understand them in the socio-political context of today.
And since the festival is curated in a way that it suits wider tastes, there’s a lot to do. We recommend that you start on Friday with attending Ali Sethis concert. The last two days of the festival are packed with events simultaneously going on and you can find the schedule here. Pick and choose what write my essay for me cheap panel discussions seem interesting to you beforehand so you don’t miss out!
