Meet the highest paid YouTuber in the world – Ryan Kaji
According to the latest list released by Forbes on Wednesday this week, Ryan Kaji is the highest paid YouTuber in the world. Guess how old he is?
Eight years.
Yes. Let that sink in. As of October 2019, Ryan turned 8. Hailing from Texas, USA, he has earned US$26 million in 2019 on his YouTube channel. Ryan’s real name is Ryan Guan and in 2018, he was the highest YouTube earner with US$22 million going to his bank account (or his parents to be more specific). His channel “Ryan’s World,” was launched in 2015 by his parents. Although it is just three years old, it already has 22.9 million subscribers. His initial channel was called “Ryan Toys Review” where he unboxed toys and told the people who to use them. A simple idea but the videos were fun to watch. As Ryan got older, his parents added more education content to this channel, changing the name to Ryan’s World. Ryan’s parents have been highly supportive of his idea to continue the channel and have claimed that most of the money he makes, is going to a fund maintained towards his college education.
The channel releases a video almost every day. Most of the videos on the channel have racked up more than one billion views, and the channel has received almost 35 billion views since its creation, according to data from the analytics website Social Blade. In the list by Forbes, Dude Perfect came in second after Ryan’s World, up from third the year before, having earned US$20 million between Jun 1, 2018 and Jun 1, 2019. In third place was another child star’s channel, that of Russia’s Anastasia Radzinskaya. At only five years old, she earned US$18 million.
