Order Ghar Ka Khaana, Anywhere, Anytime – How This Startup Is Changing Home Entrepreneurship

There’s no greater fact more well-known than this: Pakistani home-cooked food will never get old, it’s in fact one of the greater joys of living in this country.
And so, Plate 101 is the startup of every food-lover-on-a-budgets dream! A marketplace for home cooks to sell their food online through a mobile application, the Islamabad based startup has picked up on one of our biggest market needs. Clean, healthy, food that doesn’t cost a lot and that can be delivered to us instantly.
Noor-Us-Saba, the founder and CEO of the company is enabling individuals to turn into “homentrepreneurs” and earn money by connecting them to anyone who needs a well-made meal. The process is really simple for people on both ends. Homecooks can sign up through the application and Plate 101 contacts them to set their profiles up. For those looking to eat, a foodpanda-esque interface allows you to browse through options of types of foods, their prices and how near or far they are from your location with delivery times. You can pay cash on delivery, your meals are delivered to you in Plate 101 branded packaging!
Personally speaking, a platform like Plate 101 should’ve come to Pakistan sooner; we’re the perfect market for such a business. Currently incubated at NIC, Plate 101 is slowly expanding and improving their value-chain. Similar startups may pop up here and there with a slightly different product offering and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Building businesses with the localized context in mind is a win-win for everyone and it’s great to see a female-led business take the lead.
Which reminds me: if you’re hungry, go order now!
