Pakistan equestrian, Usman Khan, is the first rider to qualify for Olympics 2020!

Trying out new sports is an enthralling experience. You do not only get to experiment in the field, but if you get good at the sport, you can actually make a name for yourself all around the world. Usman Khan had such ambitions from a young age. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Geographical Information System from Adelaide. He had been riding from a young age but because of the nature of his studies, he could not give this sport the time that it needed. Making a tough decision when he was pursuing his Master’s degree, he decided to leave it half way and go ahead with his passion for sports. He knew he had to work hard but he also had the responsibility of earning. For 15 years, he worked in the mornings and practiced in the evening.
Usman Khan is truly someone Pakistanis can look up to and feel proud of. He has never asked for money from anyone even though he had to face some tough financial times. He wants to pursue his passion on his own accord. His achievements, which include representing Pakistan twice at the Asian Games in 2014 and 2018, are all because he believed in his dream. Sports is something that you cannot do if you are not willing to sacrifice. You either have to go all the way or you do not start at all. An athlete can never reach an international level of recognition if they are into the sport only halfheartedly. Usman’s accomplishments teach us to face hardships patiently because the view on the other side is definitely worth it.
