Pepsi Battle of the Bands with Careem: Coca-Cola Rocks The Show
Twitter has been a battleground for many of the politicians and celebrities. But this time, ‘War of the Words’ occurred between two of the biggest bands in Pakistan, Careem, and Pepsi.
Pepsi and Careem have worked together on many campaigns. On 17th November 2018, Pepsi was seen promoting Battle of the Bands and Careem on Twitter.
Head to the Karachi concert of #PepsiBattleoftheBands Pakistan Tour with our official ride partner @CareemPAK and use the promo code: PKTOUR18 to avail 20% off on your ride!

But the very next day, they were using Twitter as a war zone.
Now, all of us who have used Careem certainly took advantage of the promo codes and discount offers Careem has to offer every now and then. A customer of Careem asked for a free promo code and here is what Careem answered in return.
Whoops. Sorry, we don’t have promos at the moment. Phone nahi to muft ki Pepsi chalay gi? 😀 https://t.co/WJXQjIkm7j

But Pepsi took things way too seriously and warned Careem about using their brand name.
Please refrain from using our brand name without permission.

Careem realized that they may have hurt Pepsi’s feelings and replied to the serious tweet of Pepsi to cool things down.
Wow. A bit too sensitive? 🙂 https://t.co/5dOdecjHci

But instead, things went from bad to worse when Pepsi replied that things can get really messy.
We will see who’s sensitive after you receive a legal notice. 🙂 https://t.co/xhGUqb8x0T

And here all of us thought that the battle is over and Pepsi won. But Careem didn’t take the burn from this fiery tweet and tweeted like a pro, again.

And then something happened that we least expected. Coca-Cola entered the war zone sneakily and hit the arrow right on the target, taking out Careem, and their arch-rival, Pepsi, with a single hit.
Muft ki Coca-Cola ke liye head over to #CokeFest. No notice required 😊
— Coca-Cola Pakistan (@CokePk) November 18, 2018
Coca-Cola has promoted Coke-Fest and trolled Pepsi at the same time. No one saw that coming from Coke.
But after all, the war had to come to an end and a ceasefire was proposed by the Head of Marketing Pepsi, Saad Khan and Marketing Director of Careem Omar Abedin. And here is how it went.
Let's make this interesting. Over to you @CareemPAK pic.twitter.com/rWjlMF4CjQ

So the treaty of peace came up when Pepsi decided to give 1 Million Careem promos on their bottles. But Careem wanted to play it big and decided to give away 2 Million promos. In the end, entertainment and promos both went into the hands of Pakistanis.
What do you think about this Twitter War? Was it just a promotional stunt? Leave your comments below.
