The Cake Bar: The ‘Designer Cakes’ Express It Better!
Fondant or customized cake is the trend of today. And this is how people celebrate their happiness and precious moments. The simple chocolate or cream cakes are becoming history. Yes, people may like you if you bring them a cake on their birthdays or anniversaries. But they love it even more if the cake reminds them about something that they love or memory they cherish.
This is where the Cake Bar enters!
Cake Bar makes your event special through their customized cakes. And they look so good that they will not only make your mouth drool but your eyes as well. When we saw for ourselves how amazing their cakes look and taste, we decided to ask some quick questions to them.
How did you come to the idea of ‘The Cake Bar’?
I used to make cakes for my family gatherings and friends, people loved and encouraged me to do something.
Since how long have you liked baking?
I loved making since my teens and my mom loved my baking.

How did you make this idea into reality? Can you share something about your journey?
I took a professional baking course from a renowned culinary school to become a pastry chef.
There are other famous brands making custom cakes. What makes you stand out amongst them?
Alhamdullilah people love the taste of my cakes more than many famous brands. Hence, I believe that the taste, freshness, and quality of our cakes are what makes the cake bar stand out.
Making a customized cake is not as easy as making a simple cake. It definitely requires creativity. Do you consider yourself an artist as well?
Yes, definitely. Because every customized cake is indeed a piece of art, whether fondant or buttercream. And I believe I really enjoy doing what I do because I indulged in all sorts of art since my childhood.

What do you love about being in this business?
I can express my ideas and implement them when I guide people, and they trust me for their birthdays, weddings and parties, I feel that my hard work is paid off. Also doing this, I believe that I utilize my leisure time positively and efficiently.
Customized cakes are hard to make, this is why not all bakeries make them. Do you think that working so much on a customized cake pays off in the end?
It pays off in the form of self-satisfaction, but if seen through a materialistic point of view, I would say that people do not see the amount of hard work and time put into the cakes. It’s a time taking process. Working for long hours, empty stomach to create something and are hesitant to pay the amount that I usually charge for customized cakes.
But I believe that this is compensated by the self-satisfaction at the end.
What is the biggest challenge in running ‘The Cake Bar’?
I would say management of responsibilities a balancing personal life with my business I am also a mother of two, so I have to work after my children and household responsibilities as well, so I think it gets difficult to balance out.

Where do you see yourself and your business in about 10 years?
I soon plan to start a Cafe/restaurant of my own.
So InshaAllah I see the cake bar extended to a renowned food chain in a span of a few years.
