The Motorcycle Diaries – A story of a father and daughter traveling through Punjab

Tourism has taken a turn for the better in Pakistan. While we concentrate more on the foreign tourists who come to Pakistan, we should also may special attention to the locals who are helping to improve and promote the different cities of Pakistan. These locals might not have enough following on social media, but they are making their way to the hearts of many who desire to travel in the inner most places of Pakistan. One of such duos is that of Tahir Mehdi and Momal Tahir, father and daughter who travel on a motorcycle to places in Punjab that we don’t even know exist.

Momal operates the camera while Tahir drives and explores the cities. Momal is new at handling this video technology but we must say she is doing an amazing job. In the first episode of the Motorcycle Diaries, Tahir goes to the green belt in Punjab and drives along it while Momal captures the lush fields and unpaved paths. The open roads and village life that can be seen through the lens is nothing short of mesmerizing.  The idea is to explore the different areas of Punjab specifically. They have started with Sahiwal as this is their hometown. In the coming episodes they will move on to other districts and capture the daily life of people there.

This web series is a great idea to get people to understand the South of Pakistan as well. Most tourists just focus on the Northern areas that have their own charm but the South is no less. We wish Tahir and Momal for all their future adventures and we hope that other tourists may also follow their lead and explore the intricate places of Punjab.
